Bushnell, with its expertise and years of experience in optics has come out with some great products which are not only suitable for amateur astronomers, but they are also well suited for professionals who prefer heavy duty telescopes to view stars over longer ranges.

One of the best product lines to be manufactured by Bushnell are the Voyager telescopes. Available in three different variants, these are available in reflector, refractor and compact variants. Each of these variants is designed to suit specific purposes and therefore, it is worth noting that you purchase one of these high end- high quality and high technology variants only after jotting down all your requirements and specifications.

The reflector Bushnell telescopes are based on light gathering technique and offer great magnification as compared to other brands in the optical industry. Boasting of eyepieces with dimensions of 5mm and 27mm, these are carved out of light weight and well balanced alloys and are also supplied with body straps, making them predominantly portable telescopes. The refractive models, on the other hand are more expensive and are heavier as well, but deliver the best quality in its class and therefore, are great for those who star gaze from static locations and don't need to carry their telescopes over a longer distant in order to get a clear view. Refractive models offer better magnification (up to 5 times better than other models) and are also considered to be better in terms of camera adaptability and auto focus features. Being camera adaptable is one of the most advanced features offered in Bushnell telescopes and therefore, telescopes manufactured by Bushnell are considered to be way ahead of the competition. Besides, they are aptly suited for a wide range of stargazers, from the casual and educationists to the professional astronomers, Bushnells are a hit with stargazers of every level.

There are so many brands in the market for Telescopes. It is always best to search for exclusive telescope website to read reviews, find best selling models on Meade, Tasco, Zhumell and Bushnell Telescopes. Celestron Telescopes also has lot of choices to choose from beginners to professional.

Bushnell NorthStar Telescope Review

By Kirby Yardley
In this article I will be offering a comprehensive breakdown of the Bushnell Northstar Telescope. Have a look at this review to see if the Bushnell Northstar Telescope will fit your needs as an beginning or amateur astronomer.

Features:

- RVO (Real Voice Output) - Bushnell is known for creating some very revolutionary technology. The RVO will actually give you a guided tour of the sky.

- 20,000 Object Database - The NorthStar database is actually preprogrammed with over 20,000 celestrial objects that the telescope will automatically find for you, all you have to do is look.

- Red Dot Finderscope - This amazing additional to an already ridiculous package, will help you center the objects in the sky.

- Quick Release Tripod - Not only is this monster easy to use, but it's also easy to move. The quick release tripod will ensure an easy setup and tear down. Nothing beats a time-saver!

Specifications:

- 700mm focal range x 3"

- 1.25" eyepiece

- Power-Boosting Barlow Lens

Bushnell Telescopes have always been geared for the average person who might not have too much astronomy experience. With the Bushnell Northstar, we see the same thing. I think this would be the perfect telescope for someone who is just getting into astronomy.

The setup process is very simple. Once you have mounted the telescope on the tripod, all you have to do is lock in 2 stars in the sky. After you have locked in the 2 stars, the telescope will already be calibrated and ready to start the tour. The NorthStar Celestial Object Database holds over 20,000 different objects, all you have to is pick the one you would like to view and the telescope will do the rest. The RVO (Real Voice Output) will actually provide you with an audio tour as well, giving you the names of the stars and constellations as well as the mythological backgrounds for them.

My conclusion is, if you are just now getting into astronomy and looking for a great telescope, look no further, you've found it! For the price, you are getting a heck of a deal! The Bushnell Northstar Telescope get's 2 thumbs up from Magnify Space.

Article by Kirby Yardley

Grab your Bushnell Northstar Telescope today at MagnifySpace.com!

Buying a Bushnell Telescope

By Chris Clarke
With a growing interest in the skies, many people are
looking upwards to the stars and planets, and with
the number of meteor showers increasing people are
turning to the 50 years of experience that a Bushnell
telescope can bring to the viewing table. Quality
optics and precision engineering make Bushnell a well
regarded name in viewing enhancement.

Before you purchase your astronomy telescope it is
important to conduct your research. One way of
conducting this research can be accomplished by
accessing the Internet and learning more about
telescopes. Some of the questions that you should
endeavour to answer surround what features to look
for in a telescope, approximate cost, recommended
brands, etc.

Refractor telescopes are ideal for beginners as they
are lightweight, portable and easy to set up. If you
plan to look at both the night sky and day time
ground-based objects, a refractor-type Bushnell
telescope is great for both uses. Reflector
telescopes are usually heavier and bigger, but are
good for night viewing for finer detail. They tend to
have a larger aperture opening to allow for brighter
viewing of distant night skies.

Another very important feature when considering the
purchase of your Bushnell telescope is to ensure that
it has a solid base. Generally, these bases or
mounts are tripods.

Mount Bushnell Telescope for More Stable Viewing
It is worth remembering that when the telescope is
mounted on a base that the telescope does not shake
or move. Obviously, any movement by the telescope,
when peering into space, will distort the image being
viewed and provide a negative experience.

For the serious-minded star gazer, you may think
about a computerized Bushnell telescope with which
you can plug in your coordinates and time of day,
select an object from its menu and the telescope will
automatically find it. This type of Bushnell
telescope can also be used with a computerized mount
to help stay aimed at a particular location, keeping
up with the Earth's rotation to keep it in view.

Whether you are an experienced astronomy expert or a novice star gazer Chris can help you find your way through the range of Bushnell telecopes. From the basic telescope right up to the computerized telescope using the latest technology there is something for everyone.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Chris_Clarke

The Moon - La Luna

La luna vista a través de un telescopio Bushnell 78-9930 y filmada con una PowerShot A550 de Cannon.
A decent telescope for the money
I bought mine several years ago and have never been disappointed with its performance. As for the self-appointed authorities on the subject, some people have limited space at home and wouldn't necessarily find the highly touted Dobsonian design to their liking. Frankly, I like a refractor better (though I've had reflectors as well, and found them satisfactory).

Given the combination of price and performance, I feel compelled to award this economical telescope four stars. So there!

Awful
This was what I chose for my 15 year prize from work. It went to the curb for trash pick up just the other day. Junk is what it is. I was so excited to have a new back deck this summer and use the telescope with my boys. Tried for about 2 hours and wasn't worth my time. The view finder was no help. We saw more without the lenses in! Don't wast your money.

Bushnell Deep Space Telescope
I bought this telescope for my 6 yr. daughter. It's a good telescope and good price for a starter. I didn't want to spend too much money and have her use it once. Easy to setup (comes in many pieces) and use. Comes with extra different size scopes. I have to say .. I few mfg. screws fell out (the ones needed to hold it to the stand). We easily replaced them with a slightly wider screw and it hasn't been a problem. Stand Height is adjustable. Doesn't fold up unless you take the support stand off (held on with screws). It has a good view .. it was pretty cool to see the markings in the moon. I recommend it for a beginner or young child. You get what you are paying for. This is a great price for a good+ telescope.

About Bushnell Deep Space 420 x 60mm Refractor Telescope detail

Amazon Sales Rank: #8570 in Camera & Photo

Brand: Bushnell

Dimensions: 11.14 pounds

Features

Designed for night sky and land-based viewing

Yoke mount and diagonal mirror

Quickly locate the object to be viewed with the finderscope

Magnification: 420x

Objective lens: 60mm

Product Description

420 x 60 refractor
Focal length: 700
Eyepieces: 5, 20
Magnifications: 35, 105, 140, 420
Yoke mount
Vertical stabilizer bar
Barlow
Erecting lens
Finderscope
Universal coding system

Amazon
Price:

<a target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00005AXJ2/?tag=telescopes-online-20"rel="nofollow" >

Source From telescopes-online-20
Hope you guys had a great weekend
Cheers

Bushnell Voyager Sky Tour 114mm Reflector Telescope

Bushnell Voyager Sky Tour 114mm Reflector Telescope

Now I find Bushnell Voyager Sky Tour 114mm Reflector Telescope I make this product appeal to young people
About Bushnell Voyager Sky Tour 114mm Reflector Telescope detail

Features

The ultimate telescope

our new Voyager

Sky Tour

series gives amateur stargazers a pro-grade audio tour of the night sky.

Product Description

Please do not throw debris into the black hole. When I finally set it up, no matter what setting I had it on, it was not much more powerful than my little binocs.

About Bushnell Voyager 570 x 60mm Rotary Refractor Telescope detail

Amazon Sales Rank: #9248 in Camera & Photo

Brand: Bushnell

Model: 78-9570

Dimensions: 20.00 pounds

Features

Ideal for night sky and land-based viewing

Rotary power turret for accessory changes

Compact adjustable aluminum tripod

Magnification: 570x

Objective lens: 60mm

Product Description

Voyager telescopes offer impressive optical quality and precise mechanical construction resulting in the clearest view of the most distant objects in the sky. I returned it the next day because the clip on the leg was broken. The new one was fine until I put it up and the clip broke. I am a photographer and know how a tripod works! I called Bushell and they stated "some got through our quality control" and said they will send out a new, improved tripod; however could not even estimate when it would arrive since they were completely out at the warehouse. When I went to put it away, the middle plastic support broke. From the brief momement I had with it (when it wasn't falling apart) the scope and locater worked. Note that although there is a "lifetime warrantee" on workmanship, the electronics has only a 1-year warrantee (see the fine print). I am a bit hesitant on trusting the mechanics on something that fell apart in my hands-"what's next" comes to mind.

About Bushnell North Star GoTo 675mm x 4.5" Reflector Telescope detail

Amazon Sales Rank: #18276 in Camera & Photo

Brand: Bushnell

Model: 78-8845

Features

20,000 Object Onboard Starfinding Computer

Real Voice Output

Red Dot LED Finderscope

Camera Adaptable

Quick-Release Adjustable Aluminum Tripod

Product Description

Bushnell NorthStar Goto 100mm Maksutov-Cassegrain Co - 78-8840 Our NorthStar telescopes offer amateur astronomers state-of-the-art computer-driven location and tracking capability with simple, push-button control.
kinda noisy,
This unit comes w/20,000 preprogramed objects in the sky but viewing them is not particularly easy due to poor lens quality. The motors sound like a flock of screaming banshees, but they will line up the preprogramed objects w/precision.I've had no trouble with the tripod.I notice the instuction book does not mention why there are two telephone type jacks on the remote. If I had payed for this unit myself I would have returned it.

Bushell North Star
I recieved this for Christmas.

Amazon Sales Rank: #17223 in Camera & Photo

Brand: Bushnell

Model: 78-8845

Dimensions: 10.00 pounds

Features

20,000 Object Onboard Starfinding Computer

Real Voice Output

Red Dot LED Finderscope

Camera Adaptable

Quick-Release Adjustable Aluminum Tripod

Product Description

Bushnell Northstar 1300mm x 100mm 4" Maksutov Cassegrain Telescope 788840

List Price:

$410.99

Amazon
Price:

$364.99

<a target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00007973O/?tag=telescopes-online-20"rel="nofollow" >

Source From telescopes-online-20
Have a great day everybody!
Cheers

Bushnell Deep Space 420 x 60mm Refractor Telescope

Bushnell Deep Space 420 x 60mm Refractor Telescope

Now I find Bushnell Deep Space 420 x 60mm Refractor Telescope from amazon website you can see now
BuZZ from Customer Shopping

Amazon Sales Rank: #7022 in Camera & I recieved it as a gift, and am sad it can't be returned. The biggest pain is that it's not balanced and has no elevation fine tuning. When you loosen the knob to change the elevation the telescope rapidly falls and points straight up! Pretty tough to find anything when you're constantly having to hold the telescope from falling and looking through the cheap plastic viewfinder at the same time! Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!

It's underwhelming
As a proficient amateur astronomer, I was given an opportunity to play with this telescope at a friends house. My conclusion: it's not worth the money.

Here's why:
- only the azimuth axis has fine-tuning, there is NO fine tuning on the altitude axis! This is a serious design flaw which makes tracking any celestial object difficult to impossible. (the telescope has an alt-azi mount, not an equitorial mount).
- the telescope is unbalanced, i.e. when the altitude brake is released the telescope immediately drops the mirror end and points upwards. It requires support by hand to guide the telescope to the correct altitude.
- the tripod is light weight and has poor (as in no) vibration dampening properties. Combined with the akward distribution of weight in the telescope, any time you touch the telescope it vibrates wildly without settling down quickly (any gust of wind was easily detectible).
- the supporting eye-pieces are poor, they include 12.5, 9 and 4mm, but at these combinations, the resulting magnification is so high that the poor dampening of the tripod removes any chance of comfortably viewing any celestial object. The inclusion of the barlow (2x) lenses is just plain silly, a recommended combination of supporting eye-pieces would have been 25mm, 12.5mm and maybe 9mm.
- the azimuth and altitude dials have illumation (which is nice) but the reference points are hard to see, making them nearly useless. Also there is no dial to adapt the level of lighting.
- the optics looked OK, but the conditions where poor so I could not determine their true quality.

The one thing I thought was innovative was the spotter scope, it uses an interesting approach to finding celestial objects using a red dot projected onto a lens. Unfortunately the spotter scope darkens the surrounding sky making it only applicable to the brightest of stars and planets.

My overall conclusion is that this telescope is not well thought out. It will provide a challenging and annoying experience when used to look at celestial objects. I would recommend against purchasing this product and look at better brands like Meade, Celestron, etc... These established brands are more expensive but certainly a lot better in overall workmanship.

About Bushnell Voyager Sky Tour 114mm Reflector Telescope detail

Amazon Sales Rank: #8340 in Camera & Photo

Brand: Bushnell

Model: 789945

Dimensions: 1.10 pounds

Features

900mm x 4.5", Reflector

LED electronic red dot finderscope for fast positioning

Large, 1.25" diameter eyepieces

Sturdy, preassembled construciton

Product Description

Please do not throw debris into the black hole...
The Edmund Astroscan is the way to GO!
The Bushnell Voyager 100mm x 4.5" Family Reflector Telescope AKA The Astroscan Copy is JUNK for the Money.

The Edmund Astroscan is seen with Amateur Sky watchers at Dark Sky meets all over America. Bushnell is Junk period.

With the Edmund Astroscan you are paying for the finest mirror, mirrors used by N.A.S.A. They build every Astroscan to its theoretically possible limits.

I've had one since 1989, Best Portable Sky View Scope Built.

Not Nearly As Bad As Its Reputation
I mean this to be more of an endorsement than it may seem. This scope has been villified repeatedly because:
1) It's made by Bushnell;
2) It has a spherical mirror; and
3) It's a copy of a scope (The AstroScan) that many folks cut their teeth on.
When the scope is out of collimation, stars present as gull wings, and this effect is automatically attributed to the spherical mirror, because Bushnell is the big bad guy among astrosnobs. Here's the good news: You can adjust the thing when this happens, and the gull wings go away. If you get an out-of-collimation AstroScan, the darling of the astrosnobs, there ain't nothin' you can do about it. (Heh! I gotta expect a lot of 'unhelpful' votes because of comments like this.)
This is a wide-field, low power scope. Period. Outfit it with eyepieces from the AstroScan, and you have yourself a nice casual picnic table telescope. Collimate it and crank it up to ~60X, and you get a very nice view of the sky - somewhere between a binocular and a telescope. (Search at about 15 X) In the Northern Hemisphere you can use it to see (among other things):
1) The Moon
2) The rings of Saturn
3) The moons of Jupiter. You'll even see a couple of belts on Jupiter
4) The phases of venus
5) Open clusters galore
6) The Dumbbell Nebula
7) The Andromeda Galaxy
8) The Lagoon Nebula
9) A bunch of globular clusters - though only as blurry balls
10) Comets, as they come around
11) The Great Nebula In Orion
Is it pro quality? No. If what you have is $... it's not a bad way to spend that. IMHO, the Orion StarBlast (a similar instrument) beats it squarely for ~$...dollars more. I've compared the Bushnell side by side with the new AstroScan, though, and the Bushnell comes out well ahead. The difference isn't subtle.
It's biggest disadvantage is decidedly negative snob appeal.

About Bushnell Voyager 100mm x 4.5" Family Reflector Telescope detail

Amazon Sales Rank: #5386 in Camera & Photo

Brand: Bushnell

Model: 78-2010

Dimensions: .0" h x 9.56" w x 30.25" l, 16.40 pounds

Features

Ideal for novice and experienced astronomers

Comes pre-assembled

Unique design in cradle mount

Magnification: 100x

Objective lens: 4.5 inches

Product Description

A compact reflector with unique cradle-mount which is convenient to use and transport. But I cannot recommend this scope for several reasons. First, it is almost impossible to align the tracking scope with a centered object in the main scope making the next steps impossible. Second, the backlight LED display for the handheld computer is a very dark red and impossible to see - even in my very dark backyard. I fail to understand Bushnell's point in using a display you cannot see.

Save your pennies and purchase a wider aperature telescope if you really want to see celestial bodies.

Satisfactory optics...completely lacking documentation...
All in all a great backyard scope for those getting interested in Astronomy. The optics are good for planet viewing and star gazing. Deep sky objects will be faint so don't expect Hubble clarity. Moon gazing is unbeatable and Saturn is quite clear even without any filters. A good filter/lens kit really makes this scope go a long way. Once set up the "Go To" software works pretty good. Sometimes it says we are there and it requires a little hunting and pecking to find as it is just out of the field of view. For the money (Sam's club had these for as little as $200 on sale) this scope is a great starter. The cons are the complete lack of documentation included for set up and alignment procedures as well as total lack of any kind of support on Bushnell's web site. Even the astronomy links on the site are bad (as in do not work). Shame on you Bushnell for not properly supporting what is an otherwise very good product for the money. Value 10/10 Construction 10/10 Ease of use 7/10
Portability 10/10 Optics 9/10 Included accessories 6/10 Documentation 2/10
Website 0/10. Hope this helps. I really like it and would recommend it for the 200 - 300 price range but no more.

About Bushnell Northstar 300 x 90mm Motorized Telescope w/ Real Voice Output detail

Brand: Bushnell

Model: 78-8890

Dimensions: 1.00" h x 1.00" w x 1.00" l, 20.94 pounds

Features

Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope with powerful imaging in compact body

Built-in database of 20,000 celestial objects

Remote hand-held control with computerized tracking

Real voice output for fun, interactive night viewing

4mm and 20mm eyepieces

Product Description

Bushnell North Star Goto 90mm Maksutov-Cassegrain Compact / Real Voice Output / Eyepieces Included: 4mm (300x) and 20mm(60x) / 1200mm Focal Length 1x wide-angle, red dot finderscope. From the lack of tracking, poor go-to (because it doesn't keep the time after you've set it), to the way over exaggerated magnification claims, shaky mount-- all true.

I've had one of these scopes for about 4-5 years (got it as a gift). I used it once or twice but couldn't do anything but look at the moon with it. It went in the attic (where most cheap scopes end up) after a short time...

Then I gave it to my sister (she kept it when I moved-- I was going to throw it away). She gave it back after about a year because she couldn't get it to focus. Only useful for the moon she says (couldn't get the computer to work at all-- her fault there-- read on).

Since that time, however, I learned a lot about telescopes in general. So when I got it back, I figured out why it wouldn't focus with the included 4mm eyepiece or the supplied 3x barlow. It was WAY out of collimation. Collimation wasn't even mentioned in the manual at all. They assume it is always in collimation. If a scope gets out of collimation it is useless so it is strange not to put it in the manual at all.

So I take out the primary mirror and mark the center spot with a red sharpie (you need to mark the center of the primary mirror for collimation-- this one doesn't come pre-marked). I put it back in and use a cheshire eyepiece (used for collimation) to line up the optics. Now I knew why there were no instructions on collimating. This thing is almost impossible to collimate! The secondary mirror basically falls out when you loosen any ONE of the set screws! Anyway after about an hour and fifteen minutes I got it in very good collimation.

However, even in good collimation, the 4mm eyepiece will not come into a sharp focus and NOTHING in the 3x barlow will come to focus AT ALL. This is definitely due to very, very poor quality of the supplied eyepieces. I've tried other eyepieces which make this scope perform much better so I know it is the eyepieces. The 3x barlow is 100% useless and it is also 100% plastic (I think it even has a plastic lens). The *only* reason the barlow is in the box is so they can advertise 525x magnification (700mm/4mm * 3 for the barlow = 525x). But the useful magnification for any scope maxes out around 60x the aperture (in inches). In this scope's case that is 180x.

The computer works like it is supposed to (except it doesn't keep the time once you enter it which makes it pretty useless). The problem with the computer and "go-to" in general is the user has to know a bit about the sky before it is useful because you have to line up the scope manually on two stars to set the computer. The novice probably can't do this properly. Note, too, that the second star must be found fairly quickly after the first or the settings won't be very accurate (hard, again, for the novice). The most useful part of the computer is using the direction arrows to manually keep an object in view since they slew the scope at a fairly slow rate.

So, the user should know a bit about the night sky before attempting to ever use ANY go-to system.

First of all, the best way to do that is to buy NightWatch: A Practical Guide to Viewing the Universe (Spiralbound) by Terence Dickinson. That'll get you oriented in the night sky and give a good starting point.

Second, pick up a good starter scope. A good starter Newtonian (same style as this scope) with an object locator (doesn't automatically move the telescope, though) is an Orion SkyQuest XT6. It has twice the aperture of this scope. If you get the XT6 without the intelliscope option it is even cheaper. General rule is buy the bigest aperture scope that your budget allows.

Personally, I don't think you need a go-to at first. It is much more fun to be able to read start charts and star hop your way to find those deep sky objects. Very much like the difference between watching a movie vs. reading the book.

Telescope Shortcomings
The telescope is dissappointing. It is difficult to focus and the magnification is much less than I anticipated. I have yet to be able to use the extension eyepiece.

About Bushnell NorthStar 675mm x 4.5" Motorized GoTo Reflector Telescope detail

Color: red

Brand: Bushnell

Model: 788846

Released on: 2003-09-15

Dimensions: 9.75" h x 18.25" w x 43.50" l, 25.00 pounds

Features

Ideal for first time astronomers and experienced astronomers

Computerized Star Locator stores over 20,000 astronomical objects, with real voice output

Kinematic mount for precise movement

Magnification: 675x

Objective lens: 4.5 inches

Product Description

Look to the stars and explore past, present, and future, together. Th box lies when it says 2 easy assembly steps. We still haven't got it together so we can't comment on the telescpoe itself.

Everything bad you've read it true...
Everything bad you've read in the other reviews is all 100% true.

Simple way to filter out junk telescopes from the decision process....
A useful rule of thumb for determining maximum useable magnfication for a telescope is 50x per inch (or about 2x per millimeter).

A 3inch scope is useable to about 150x, or maybe a little more with a very good scope.

This scope is advertised as giving up to 525x.

Any scope which is advertised as giving such overinflated magnification claims is safely classified as "junk".

Don't buy scopes based on magnification claims.

About Bushnell NorthStar 525mm x 3" Motorized GoTo Reflector Telescope detail

Brand: Bushnell

Model: 788831

Dimensions: 43.50" h x 18.50" w x 10.00" l, 25.10 pounds

Features

Ideal for first time astronomers and experienced astronomers

Computerized Star Locator stores over 20,000 astronomical objects, with real voice output

Kinematic mount for precise movement

Magnification: 525x

Objective lens: 3 inches

Product Description

See amazing sights in the starry night with the Bushnell Northstar!
not easy to use for a novice.
Bushnell 675x60 Deep Space Refractor Telescope
this scope is a very good refractor telescope.i can see how some people have a hard time with the function of this scope. the optics seem to be of very good quality and the parts are made for a lifetime of use. i had absolutely no problem finding saturn and other planets as well as some deep space objects a.k.a stars etc. the scope has the capability of finding detail such as saturns rings and the polar caps of mars wich seems to be most of everybodys concerns when it comes to buying a good scope. for the price you cannot find a better value than this refracting telescope.just have a little patience and make sure every thing is tightend securely and eventualy you will get the hang of it. bushnell has discontinued this model and most of their newer refractors are made of plastic only. two thumbs up for this scope and just have a little patience and you will be suprized.

It's Cool
From the outside, this telescope looks really cool. But when you try to piece it together, it's complicated. The price of this telescope is reasonable in the toy section. It's still really good.

Not an optical instrument but a useless toy
This is the perfect example of the kind of scope astronomers warn beginners against.

The first red flag is the ridiculously high maximum magnification of over "675x." Do you know what you will see at 675x in this scope? Nothing but a dim blur. Note that the objective (main) lens is 60mm. All telescope optics have inherent limitations; maximum useful magnification per millimeter of aperture is about 2x. Therefore, with any attempt to use this scope at magnification of over 120-140x, increase in image size will be more than offset by breakdown, and that's even assuming the quality of the objective lens is any good.

The finder is useless: a 6x30 is barely adequate, and this one does not even meet that standard. Using it for anything but the moon will be an exercise in frustration. The eyepieces are of terrible quality, with a very narrow field of view, like looking through a drinking straw.

I do not recommend equatorial mounts for beginners. Their tracking properties are primarily for astrophotography, and for this they require careful setup. The equatorial mount on this scope is provided primarily as a marketing gimmick to impress naïve buyers with its complex "scientific" appearance.

Buy this telescope, and I guarantee that as soon as the newness wears off it will be relegated to a forgotten corner of the attic.

Using an astronomical telescope is not like playing an MP3 file and but rather like playing a guitar. It is a learned skill. And you must do a lot of homework before you buy a telescope. Buying without prior experience is like buying a car without knowing anything about driving. If you want to see the wonders of the sky, contact your local astronomy club and attend one of their star parties. The members love sharing their hobby and can set you straight as to how to get started. The best way is to learn the sky with the unaided eye and 10x50 binoculars (decent ones are available on Amazon), then graduate to something along the lines of a 150-200mm (6-8") Dobsonian; good ones can be found on Amazon starting under $290.

For more information on buying telescopes, see my encyclopedic guide on Amazon: "So you want to buy a telescope."

About Bushnell 675x60 Deep Space Refractor Telescope detail

Amazon Sales Rank: #3614 in Camera & Photo

Brand: Bushnell

Model: 78-9519

Dimensions: 7.00" h x 12.00" w x 37.00" l,

Features

Equatorial mount

Firefly (aids nighttime use of scope)

Aluminum tripod

All metal accessory trays

Finders scope

Product Description

Bushnell Deep Space 675mm x 60mm Refractor Telescope 789519

Amazon
Price:

$82.99

<a target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006TTXQ2/?tag=telescopes-online-20"rel="nofollow" >

Source From telescopes-online-20
Hope you guys had a great weekend
Cheers
